Travel Japan with ease from Taichung to Osaka via direct flights

It’s now easier to travel to Japan from Taichung. To promote tourism in central Taiwan, Far Eastern Air Transport and the Taichung City Government have collaborated to launch a new direct flight route between Taichung and Osaka at Chingchuankang Airport, officially commencing operations on June 18.

Far Eastern Air Transport signed a strategic alliance with the Taichung City Government in early 2015, planning to open direct flights between Taichung and Osaka as well as Nagoya in June. The airline will operate two regular flights per week on each route, aiming to bring significant tourism benefits to both cities. Currently, Chingchuankang Airport in Taichung only has international routes to Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul in South Korea, and Hong Kong. For Japan, the only destination is Okinawa. Recently, Far Eastern announced that the direct Taichung–Osaka flight will definitely begin on June 18. The airline will use McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft with a total of 165 seats, flying regularly every Thursday and Sunday. The flight departs Taichung at 11:40 AM and arrives in Osaka at 3:15 PM local time; the return flight leaves Osaka at 4:15 PM and arrives in Taichung at 6:00 PM.
