Dajianxi Gorge

Dajianxi Gorge is located at the border between Dongshi and Zhuolan in Taichung County, stretching 96 kilometers in length with a drainage area of 758 square kilometers. Originating from Dashanbian in the Snow Mountain Range, the gorge was shaped by the compression from the 921 Earthquake and further carved by years of typhoon and rain erosion, resulting in a majestic landscape featuring a grand canyon that is over ten meters deep and about three hundred meters long.

The Dajianxi Gorge resembles a giant dragon, exuding a magnificent presence. Stretching over 300 meters in length and reaching depths of more than ten meters, the rushing waters have forcefully split the terrain in two. The exposed rock layers on both banks present a rarely seen, awe-inspiring sight in Taiwan.
