Dakeng Scenic Area

Located in Beitun District, Taichung City, Dakeng Scenic Area is often referred to as the “Yangmingshan of Taichung” and the “Back Garden of Taichung.” Covering a total area of 3,300 hectares with altitudes ranging from 112 to 860 meters, it boasts rich natural ecology, hot spring bathing, and convenient transportation. It is one of the top ten most popular tourist attractions in Taichung and is quite popular among tourists from Taiwan and around the world.

The Dakeng Scenic Area features many well-known attractions such as the Dakeng Sightseeing Orchard, Taichung Sightseeing Farm, Venice Water Park, Greenfield Villa, and Dakeng Physical Training Ground. After the 921 Earthquake that struck central Taiwan, the area's hot spring resources gradually gained recognition and were rapidly developed, adding new experiences for visitors.

Currently, there are ten hiking trails in the Dakeng Scenic Area. Trails No. 1 to No. 5 have a combined length of 11,870 meters, while Trails No. 6 to No. 8 total 6,592 meters. Trails No. 9 and No. 10 are newly built. Each trail varies in difficulty, making them great destinations for citizens to exercise and for families and friends to go hiking on holidays.
