Zhongtai Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Zhongtai Temple is located in Xinyi Village, Puli Town, Nantou County, Taiwan Province. It is presided over by Venerable Master Wei Jue and currently has over 80 branch temples across the province. The temple also regularly holds spiritual cultivation activities. Zhongtai Temple is massive in scale and features an architectural style that blends both Eastern and Western techniques. Its towering and majestic roof is especially admired by devotees. The entire new structure of Zhongtai Temple at first glance resembles the shape of a pyramid and is indeed another magnificent masterpiece of Buddhist architecture.

Since its establishment in 1994 (the 83rd year of the Republic of China), Zhongtai Temple underwent redevelopment and renovation from 1994 to 2000. Today, the temple boasts a solemn and magnificent exterior. Venerable Master Wei Jue and renowned architect Li Tsu-yuan integrated Eastern and Western architectural techniques in the design of Zhongtai Temple. They also incorporated the sudden enlightenment approach of “Direct Realization of Buddhahood” and the gradual practice spirit of “Exhausting Stages Step by Step,” along with the style of ancient monastic complexes. This merges art, academia, religion, and culture while maintaining the essence of Zen Buddhism, leaving visitors in awe. In addition to its remarkable architecture, Zhongtai Temple also features well-equipped facilities, including a meditation hall, the Four Heavenly Kings Hall, the Bodhisattva Hall, the Three Ages of Buddhas Hall, lecture halls, guest reception rooms, kitchens, and dining halls for devotees to worship and use.
