The annual Nantou Train Festival, which has been held since 2007, has become a highly anticipated summer event for the public. The 2014 Nantou Train Festival will also kick off in full swing from July 13 to August 17!
This year, in addition to inviting well-known local figures and artists to paint trains, showcasing different views of Jiji, the Nantou County Government has also specially invited the popular picture book "Little Bear School" to have twelve little bears as special guests. Children and adults alike can enjoy their summer vacation and an exciting and fun journey through Nantou's summer with the Little Bear School.

Every year at the Nantou Train Festival, heritage steam locomotives are the focus of railway fans. This year, visitors who stay at any licensed accommodation in Nantou during the event period will have the chance to ride for free. Riding a steam train through the scenic views of Jiji is sure to be a unique experience. Photography enthusiasts who capture content related to the 2014 Nantou Train Festival may even win a cash prize of up to NT$10,000. During the holidays, families with children can visit the event site and sing and dance with famous entertainers like Brother Banana and Sister Rainbow. If you're lucky, you might even meet the mini-popular train conductor, Little Mark, and the youngest twin hosts Lele & Z??? who will lead everyone in fun activities. Children can also enjoy activities like banana peeling and treasure hunts, all while experiencing the area’s unique features.

Additionally, the participation of the Little Bear School has made the event even more fun, with special summer exhibitions including the “Little Bear Jakey’s Bakery,” where visitors can bake bread together with Little Bear Jakey and learn about Nantou’s seasonal produce. The “Little Bear School Green Tunnel Bicycle Tour” will feature a 3D green tunnel scene, where the little bears act as guides to show you must-see spots along the Jiji Line... With such rich and engaging activities, both kids and adults are sure to have a fulfilling time at this event!
