The Wenwu Temple at Sun Moon Lake is a temple located on the northern mountainside of Sun Moon Lake in Nantou County, Taiwan. It primarily enshrines Guan Yu (the God of War), along with Confucius and Yue Fei, with all deities represented by bronze statues. Facing south and nestled against surrounding mountains, with the famous lake serving as its front courtyard, the temple boasts a magnificent layout and grand atmosphere, embodying both excellent feng shui and geographical advantages. The Wenwu Temple features an impressive main gate known as the "Three-Bay Archway." Behind it lies a spacious temple square. Ascending the steps from the square leads to the temple’s main structures, which consist of three halls arranged in sequence: the Worship Hall, the Martial Saint Hall, and the Hall of Great Achievement. The layout is well-spaced and harmonious, while the structure is rigorous and orderly. The lofty halls with yellow tiles and red pillars are complemented by the beautiful and fragrant garden on the back hill, creating an awe-inspiring yet approachable ambiance.
