Bagua Tea Garden is located in a place called Ruan'an in the mountainous area of Da'an Village, Zhushan Township, Nantou County, at an altitude between 1,000 and 1,300 metres, and is touted as the most beautiful tea garden in Taiwan. Thanks to its considerable elevation, suitable humidity, and moderate temperature and soil conditions, the tea produced here is of exceptional quality.

The real name of Bagua Tea Garden is Hongyi Tea Garden, which specializes in high-mountain oolong tea. The tea trees in the garden are planted along the contours of the land, arranged in neat, concentric circles that resemble the shape of the Bagua (Eight Trigrams), hence its popular nickname. The Bagua Tea Garden is especially stunning during the spring and autumn tea-picking seasons. The sight of tea-pickers bending over to harvest leaves around the garden not only makes for perfect backdrops in TV commercials but also captures some of the most beautiful images in the lenses of photography enthusiasts. Of course, it’s also a sought-after spot for many couples who go out of their way to take their wedding photos here.
