The Jingpu Tropic of Cancer Monument is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Tropic of Cancer crosses four counties in Taiwan—Penghu, Chiayi, Nantou, and Hualien. When you stand with one foot on each side of the central stone slab at the base of the monument, one foot is in the tropics and the other in the northern temperate zone, offering a unique geographical experience. The Tropic of Cancer crosses four counties in Taiwan—Penghu, Chiayi, Nantou, and Hualien—with monuments erected on both the eastern and western sides of the island. The western monument is the Chiayi Tropic of Cancer Monument, while the eastern one is located in Hualien County. Hualien has two such monuments: an earlier one built in Wuhe Village, Ruisui Township, and another—the Jingpu Tropic of Cancer Monument. The Chiayi monument was constructed in 1908, during the 34th year of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty, making it the earliest Tropic of Cancer monument in China. The Jingpu Tropic of Cancer Monument is situated in Jingpu Village, Fengbin Township, Hualien County. It faces the Pacific Ocean to the east, has a cylindrical, lighthouse-like shape, standing tall and striking. Both the northern and southern faces of the monument are inscribed with the words "Tropic of Cancer," and there is a vertical, narrow slit in the middle of the cylinder where the Tropic of Cancer actually passes through.
