The beach in Aodi Fishing Village is one of the few remaining sandy coastal landscapes — small yet beautiful, making it a popular spot for locals to swim and play in the water during the summer. The nearby Octopus Swimming Pool also provides a safe place for those who prefer not to swim.

Summer sunrises here are a rare coastal spectacle; sit by the shore, listen to the sound of the waves, and admire the magnificent sunrise over the colorful clouds, a truly refreshing experience. The coastal reefs, shaped over years by the constant erosion of seawater, form unique formations that are well worth exploring up close.

Within this enclosed bicycle and sightseeing trail, you can stroll, jog, or cycle at ease, enjoying the refreshing sea breeze. As the trail runs alongside the coastal road and is flanked by mountains and sea, you can gaze out over the vast blue waters, spot distant Keelung Islet, and watch cargo ships sailing across the ocean.

Next to the parking lot on the trail, there’s a path leading down to the sea where you can go fishing. Sit by the shore and listen to the powerful sound of the waves, admire the coastal reefs sculpted into various unique shapes by years of wave erosion, or head to Aodi Fishing Village to swim and play in the water.

If you have time, energy, and want to work up a sweat, you can also explore the Zhongshan Canyon Forest Ancient Trail near the parking lot by the mountains. The round trip takes about 40 to 60 minutes. Alternatively, you can walk the Wenxing Forest Trail near the end of the main trail, close to the Temple of the Earth God. This 950-meter trail takes about 30 minutes to reach the Lover’s Lake Viewing Platform at the end — the best spot to take in panoramic views of the West Coast Highway and the seaside scenery of Waimushan Fishing Port.
