This one’s a must-save: A lazy guide to the ultimate food map of Keelung’s N ways to eat!

Quickly set aside some time for a food tour in Keelung. The Keelung City Transportation and Tourism Department has recently launched two hand-drawn food maps —“Scented Journey” and “Keelung’s N Ways to Eat” —which carefully compile a comprehensive collection of both city-center eats and hidden alleyway delicacies known only to locals. From morning to night, this gourmet feast will definitely change your view of Keelung as a food desert.

Surrounded by sea on three sides, Keelung boasts an abundance of fresh seafood, whether it's freshly caught fish or handmade local specialties such as Keelung’s iconic “Jigula,” or the must-visit Keelung Miaokou Night Market — all can be found on the food map. “Scented Journey” covers local eats in the city center, and is especially divided into two themes: “Birds of Dawn” breakfast and “Night Owl” eats. For breakfast, you’ll find Yu Family Clear Fish Soup, which sees long queues as early as 3 a.m., and Zhou Family Soy Milk’s popular scallion pancakes. As for late-night eats, you can opt for Ze Shi Izakaya or charcoal-grilled sandwiches from Za Ding Fish Market.

“Keelung’s N Ways to Eat” divides Keelung’s seven administrative districts into four zones: the Generous Eats zone, the Pier Feast zone, the Harbor Gathering Eats zone, and the Mine Mouth Warm Eats zone. Based on the unique food features of each area, it arranges different culinary journeys. In addition to being available at the Keelung Tourism Service Center, these food brochures can also be picked up at various tourism service centers in northern Taiwan, at Songshan Airport, as well as at Taiwan Railway, High-Speed Rail, and MRT stations. The public can also download the digital version from the download section on the Keelung Tourism website.
