Yuhe Ecological Park

Yuhe Ecological Park, stretching 5.5 kilometers from north to south and 500-800 meters from east to west, covers a planned total area of 400 hectares. By mid-October 2004, the project was completed, reviving the once barren and desolate landscapes on both sides of the Yuhe River. Families flocked to witness the new river’s charm, marking a historic improvement in the natural ecological environment of Datong City.

A river can give a city its soul, and a riverside ecological park showcases the richness of urban life. The beauty and spirit of the city are reflected through the river and revealed via the park. With the Yuhe River replenished and the Yuhe Park lush with greenery, development along both banks has become an imperative of our time. Yuhe Park includes eight functional zones: a children’s activity area, cultural and recreational zone, sports area, water activity area, horticultural display area, leisure area, senior citizens’ activity area, and management area. Additionally, specialized gardens such as a bonsai garden, plant corner, animal corner, rose garden, peony garden, maple garden, cherry blossom garden, lotus pond, aquatic plant garden, and vine garden have been planned.
