Luk Kong is located between Sha Tau Kok and Yantian District in Shenzhen. It still retains a wealth of natural ecology and is a well-known heron-watching area. It also features mangroves, which are rare in urban areas. The overgrown Yazhou Island serves as a habitat for various heron species, allowing visitors to observe the graceful movements of egrets up close. The nearby mangroves are also home to many unique plants, such as Kandelia obovata, Excoecaria agallocha, and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza. Additionally, you can find animals commonly seen in mangrove areas, such as mudskippers and fiddler crabs.
