Halasala Birch Forest

Halasala Birch Forest is located east of the county seat of Hoboksar Mongol Autonomous County, with a straight-line distance of 7.5 km from the county town.

Halasala Birch Forest is a clustered woodland, with birch trees generally standing about 3–5 meters tall. The forest also contains a small number of willow trees. The tree belt stretches approximately 1.5 km

in length and around 40 meters in width. In terms of topography and landform, the entire forest belt lies in a relatively low-lying area, belonging to a swampy meadow steppe zone. The area has abundant groundwater, making the vegetation lush and the grassland thriving. The forest is rich in various types of grasses such as carex, reeds, Leymus chinensis, Phragmites australis, and Stipa capillata, all growing vigorously with an average height of about 30 cm. The Halasala Birch Forest is a relatively rare forest type in the Tacheng region. It is currently well-preserved and undeveloped, and holds potential for integrated development with the nearby Ancient City of Dorbent Ööled.
