Tomb of Li Hu

The Tomb of Li Hu is a cultural relic protection unit of Gansu Province.

The Tomb of Li Hu is located in Luwan Village, Baisha Town, Qingshui County, Tianshui City. It is the burial site of Li Hu, who served as the Prefect of Shangzhou during the Sui Dynasty. The tomb faces south and features a conical earthen mound atop a square base measuring 7 meters on each side and 0.5 meters in height. A funerary epitaph and its cover were unearthed and are now housed in the Qingshui County Museum. The epitaph was excavated in the fifth year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1826), then reburied, and the tomb was excavated again in 1929 by the Provincial Gazetteer Bureau, which recorded the epitaph’s content. In front of the tomb mound stands a stone stele erected in the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), inscribed with “Tomb of Li Hu, Duke Shen Zheng, Grand General of the Agile Cavalry, Holding Imperial Credentials of the Great Sui.” Additionally, a replicated epitaph from 1993 has been erected at the tomb site. The Tomb of Li Hu is well-preserved, with clear inscriptions on the epitaph, making it of significant value for the study of Sui Dynasty history in the Tianshui region.

In 1982, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Qingshui County.

On November 8, 2017, it was included in the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units of Gansu Province.

Protected area: With the tomb’s reference point as the center, the protected zone extends 20 meters east and west, 25 meters south, and 10 meters north.
