Boil eggs in hot springs & soak your feet in wild streams – the ultra-popular Qingshui Geothermal Park in Yilan

After nine months of closure for renovation, Yilan’s Qingshui Geothermal Park began trial operations from November 20 to November 30, with an official opening scheduled for December 8. Parking is free during the trial period.

Qingshui Geothermal is located in the Qingshui River Valley on the southern side of Qingshui Village, Datong Township, at the boundary between the plain and the foothills. In the valley, distant green mountains paired with wisps of white steam from the geothermal vents create a picturesque scene, as visitors cook food and soak their feet in the park, forming a truly charming rural tableau.

The park covers an area of 2.5 hectares and features a 30-meter-long wild stream for visitors to soak their feet, along with cooking pools, rest platforms in the foot-soaking area, and a food service area, all of which have been completed. There are also two parking lots planned, capable of accommodating approximately 250 passenger cars.

Following its closure in March this year for upgrades — including the development of a cold water source, adjustments and maintenance of the park’s hot water pipelines, and improvements to boost the heating efficiency of the cooking pools — the park held trial operations from November 20 to November 30, with the official opening set for December 8.
