Liuping Tombs Cluster

The Liuping Tombs Cluster is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Gansu Province.

The Liuping Tombs Cluster is located in Liuping Village, Baituo Town, Qingshui County, Tianshui City. It consists of cultural relics from the late Warring States period, covering an area of approximately 200,000 square meters. Around 20 tombs have been discovered, with the largest tomb chamber measuring about 18 square meters and the deepest reaching around 15 meters. Nearly 5,000 artifacts have been unearthed, including bronze ornaments, fittings, gold and silver foil decorative pieces, weapons such as daggers, halberds, swords, knives, and spears, as well as agate, turquoise, and coal jade bead necklaces. These findings provide valuable materials for studying the culture of the Western Rong people during the Warring States period, the relationship between the Qin and the Western Rong, and the cultural exchanges between southeastern Gansu, the grasslands of northern China, and the Eurasian steppe during that time.

In 2010, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit by the People’s Government of Qingshui County.

On November 8, 2017, it was included in the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units in Gansu Province.

Protected Area: A buffer zone extending 500 meters east, south, west, and north from the reference point of the tombs cluster.
