Taishanmiao Plateau Beacon Site

The Taishanmiao Plateau Beacon Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Qingshui County.

The Taishanmiao Plateau Beacon Site is located approximately 200 meters north of Taishanmiao Plateau in Dongguan Village, Yongqing Town, Qingshui County. It dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties and is categorized as an ancient site.

It was designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit of Qingshui County on March 30, 2010.

Protected area: With the central point as the reference, East: within 10 meters outward from the beacon; West: within 10 meters outward from the beacon; South: within 10 meters outward from the beacon; North: bounded by the cliff.

Construction control zone: Extend 20 meters outward from the perimeter boundaries of the protected area to the east, south, west, and north.

Dongguan Village: Located to the east of the picturesque Yongqing area, Dongguan Village covers an area of about 50 acres, has a population of around 310 people, and consists of approximately 60 households. Most villagers make a living through farming. Originally known as Dongmenwai or Xiaodongguan—“Xiaodongguan” meaning “small eastern gate”—the name stems from its smaller population. According to elders, Yongqing originally had four city gates: the East Gate, West Gate, South Gate, and North Gate. Dongguan was situated just outside the East Gate, hence the name. After the liberation, it was renamed Dongguan Village.
