Luchong Village

Introduction: Luchong Village is located on the western shore of Fuxian Lake, 19 kilometers from Chengjiang County. Within the Luchong Village scenic area lies the Luchong Big Cave, situated to the south of the village. The cave is rich in underground spring water, which maintains a constant temperature of around 24°C year-round and continuously flows into Fuxian Lake. During summer and autumn, it’s a remarkable sight to see fishermen using waterwheels to catch schools of anti-wave fish swimming upstream. The scenic area also features Bijia Mountain to the north of the village, formed by three peaks standing like the legs of a writing desk — hence its name. Every year on the 19th day of the second lunar month, the Guanyin Temple at the main peak hosts an exceptionally grand temple fair, adding to the area’s charm. To the north of Bijia Mountain lies Boxi Bay, known for its calm waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and water sports. Transportation: From the Eastern Bus Station in Kunming, take a shuttle bus to Chengjiang County, which runs every 15 minutes and takes about 2 hours. From Chengjiang County, there are regular shuttle buses to Luchong Village, with departures every 20 minutes. Tip: The swimming pool at Bijia Mountain Villa is free for guests staying at the hotel.
