The Huayao Dai people in Xinping include subgroups such as Daiya, Dasa, and Daka. Damuyu Village is the settlement of the Daiya subgroup of the Huayao Dai. In the Dai language, Damuyu means “a place for love and courtship.” The Damuyu Huayao Dai Ethnic Culture Ecological Tourism Village is an ethnic cultural and ecological park that authentically showcases the traditional architecture, historical culture, and customs of the Huayao Dai. Springs originating from mountain streams flow through the village, with traditional Dai earthen houses nestled among betel palm trees, phoenix tail bamboo, flame trees, and lychee trees.
