Manque Buddhist Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Yunnan Province.

Guide: In the Dai language, Manque Buddhist Temple is called "Wamanque," meaning the central temple. The temple is surrounded by traditional Dai bamboo houses and tall broadleaf trees such as bodhi, mango, and betel nut, making it a typical Theravada Buddhist temple. The temple was first built in 1477 at a location about 1 kilometer west of its current site. As this temple was donated and constructed by local Buddhists, eminent monks, and the highest feudal lord of Xishuangbanna, Xuanwei, it holds significant religious and social status and influence. Introduction: Manque Buddhist Temple stands to the north of the Lancang River Bridge. Traveling east from Jinghong, cross the Lancang River Bridge, turn right into Manque Village, and you will see the resplendent Manque Temple — the oldest Buddhist temple structure in Jinghong City. The temple is grand and magnificent in scale. The main hall is supported by 18 red sandalwood pillars, each 8 meters high and 40 centimeters in diameter. The beams and brackets are all constructed using mortise-and-tenon joinery in an interlocking arch-style. Sixteen finely carved small elephants stand proudly along the temple eaves. Throughout the construction of the temple, whether beams, brackets, or other elements, all were joined using mortise and tenon techniques without a single nail or rivet, resulting in an exquisitely designed and aesthetically pleasing structure. During the Dai festivals of "Opening the Door Festival" and "Water Splashing Festival," both local and international devotees come here to worship and make merit. Manque Buddhist Temple is located on the north side of the Lancang River Bridge, within the nearby Manque Village close to the river.

Bus: Take a minibus within Jinghong City to Manque Village. The fare is about 2 yuan per person. Get off and walk 100 meters south to reach the temple.
