The Premier Zhou Enlai Memorial Monument in Jinghong is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

The Premier Zhou Enlai Memorial Monument is situated within a rubber plantation behind the research building of the Tropical Crops Research Institute, west of downtown Yunjinghong, the capital of the autonomous prefecture.

The park was built in 1985, funded by the Yunnan Tropical Crops Research Institute, with the design by faculty and students from the Architecture Department of Tongji University in Shanghai, and constructed by the institute’s engineering team according to the blueprints. It spans over 6,000 square meters and consists of an explanatory monument, the Premier’s Inspection Memorial Monument, the Sino-Burmese Premiers’ Meeting Memorial Monument, as well as auxiliary flower stands and lawns.

The Premier Zhou Enlai Memorial Monument Park was established to commemorate the meeting between Premier Zhou and then-Burmese Prime Minister U Nu on April 14, 1961, at the site of the park, and to honor Premier Zhou’s interactions with scientific and technical personnel and staff of the Tropical Crops Research Institute amidst the rubber plantation. It stands as a witness to the friendly exchanges between China and Myanmar.

Zhou Enlai was a Marxist, proletarian revolutionary, politician, military strategist, and diplomat. He was one of the principal leaders of the Communist Party of China and the People's Republic of China, one of the founders of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and served as the Premier of the People's Republic of China (1949–1976). Originally from Shaoxing, Zhejiang, he was born in Huai'an, Jiangsu. In 1917, after graduating from Nankai School in Tianjin, he went to Japan to study. In 1919, he returned to China, entered Nankai University in September, and became a leader among Tianjin’s student activists during the May Fourth Movement.
