Liberation Lake is located within the Manting Park. Just beside it, a staircase leads up to the Zongfo Temple. The lake water is crystal clear, surrounded by beautiful waters, with the Jiaye River flowing gently in front of the lake. Lush trees line both banks, creating a pleasant scenery. Although "liberation" (release of animals) originates from Buddhist terminology, the practice of animal liberation in Han Chinese regions did not start with Buddhism.
