Three Immortals Cave

Located among the mountains of Sanjiaoyan in Mengjia Town, Mangshi, this is a natural stone cave formed on sheer cliffs. It lies 40 kilometers from Mangshi and is over 200 million years old. It earned its name from the local legend that three immortals once lived here for an extended period in ancient times. The cave is divided into upper and lower levels, featuring 16 chambers and over 120 scenic spots.

The Three Immortals Cave Scenic Area is being developed according to 4A-level planning standards. Currently, 2,000 meters of the cave have been opened to the public, comprising nine chambers: Dapeng Hall, Guanghan Palace, Three Immortals Hall, Wild Elephant Valley, Golden Willow Riverside, Mengbanaxi, Treasure Lotus Lamp, and East Sea Dragon Palace. The highest point inside the cave reaches nearly 15 meters, with certain sections wide enough to accommodate over a thousand people. The upper and lower caves form a natural air vent, keeping the interior breezy. The cave features winding passages, with each section offering unique sights and caves within caves. Stalactites abound, with exotic rocks vying in beauty, clear springs flowing, clusters of stone bamboo shoots, inverted stalactites, and ever-changing scenery at every step. It combines majestic grandeur with exquisite delicacy. The formations resemble jade trees and silver flowers, carved dragons and phoenixes, peacocks spreading their tails, and thousand-petal lotuses—stunningly beautiful and utterly captivating. According to expert estimates, the total length of the Three Immortals Cave is at least over 20 kilometers. Outside the cave, three small hills are covered with interconnected pine, tea, and fruit tree forests. Mountain streams run clear, and birds chirp lively. Within the tea plantation lies a wild tea grove with two to three hundred ancient tea trees, some hundreds of years old, producing nine-petal tea blossoms—a uniquely beautiful sight.
