Former Residence of Zhou Yiqun

The former residence of Zhou Yiqun is a Guizhou Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism attraction.

The former residence of Zhou Yiqun is a traditional quadrangle courtyard facing south. The front yard is paved with flagstones, and flower beds are located on both sides. The entire residence is simple, elegant, and well laid out. It now serves as an exhibition room displaying the life and deeds of the martyr.

Zhou Yiqun (1896–1931), courtesy name Lifeng, was born on June 25, 1896, into a wealthy family in Tongren County, Guizhou Province. In the spring of 1919, he went to Japan to study. He returned to China in 1923 and, together with progressive youth such as Li Xiagong, founded the "Guizhou Youth" semi-monthly publication in Shanghai to promote anti-imperialist and anti-feudal ideas. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1924. In October of the same year, he entered the Second Class of the Whampoa Military Academy, joining the Supply Corps.
