Daming Border City Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Daming Border City Scenic Area (MingParadise), a national 4A-level scenic spot and one of the first cultural industry demonstration bases in Guizhou Province, is located in the eastern suburbs of Tongren City, stretching along the right bank of the Jinjiang River from Shuijing Pavilion. With a total investment of 1.19 billion yuan, it neighbors “the most beautiful small city in China” — Fenghuang in Hunan, the “World Natural Heritage” site Zhangjiajie, and the “Five Great Buddhist Mountains” of Fanjing Mountain. The entire scenic area is based on the history of the Ming Dynasty, themed around Ming culture, focused on military elements of the Ming era, and set against a backdrop of local characteristics. It is dedicated to exploring 600 years of Guizhou’s history and culture since the Ming Dynasty, integrating “dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, entertainment,” as well as “leisure, wellness, sports, and film production.” It is the largest comprehensive historical and cultural scenic area in Southwest China.

The core scenic area is divided into eight major cultural experience zones: the Border City Square Performance Area, the Border City Vernacular Culture Area (including the Pentagon Theater), the Border City Military Experience Area, the Border City Navy Dragon Boat Camp, the Daming Water Village Jinjiang Fishing Culture Area, the Daming Winery, the Water Park Area, and the Children's Social Experience Museum. Daming Border City Scenic Area will create a new tourism pattern: “Go to Zhangjiajie for natural landscapes, go to Fenghuang for ancient towns, go to Fanjing Mountain for Buddhist culture, and go to Daming Border City to explore 600 years of Guizhou’s history and culture.”

As a city of culture, stories, and experiences, Daming Border City will become an important window showcasing 600 years of Guizhou’s history and culture.
