The Hongyang Grassland, spanning nearly 60,000 mu, is located in the Hongyang scenic area of the provincial-level Nangong Forest Park, with the tourist highway from Taijiang to Leishan’s Xijiang running right through it. At an elevation of up to 1,760 meters and stretching over 10 kilometers from east to west, the grassland integrates tourism, wind power generation, and animal husbandry.

The grassland is primarily composed of mountainous shrub-grassland, surrounded by well-preserved primeval forests. The entire area features undulating terrain, lush green mountains, and a majestic atmosphere. It offers excellent views of grassland, forest, and celestial landscapes—especially during sunrise, sunset, when the mountains look like an ocean, clouds drift over peaks, or during snow and rime scenes.

Known as the “Tianshan of the South,” the Hongyang Grassland comprises natural attractions such as the Forest in Water, Azalea Mountain, Artemisia Corridor Pond, Artemisia Corridor Peak, Heavenly Frog Valley, Wengwengwang Earth City Ruins, and Zhangshuiping Ancient Battlefield, as well as cultural sites including the tomb of the Miao hero Bao Li Wang, the training ground of anti-Qing hero Zhang Xiumei, the Lotus Tun Earth City Site, and ancient trenches.
