Pure white attraction added +1 – A must-visit cultural hub for all the artsy crowd has officially opened

Located at the intersection of Anji Road and Anzhong Road in Annan District, Tainan City, an eye-catching white building with an irregular, design-forward aesthetic stands out. The “Taijiang Cultural Center” began trial operations from January to March 2019 and officially opened on April 13. It is a multifunctional cultural center that preserves and documents the trajectory of the Taijiang cultural movement.

The Taijiang Cultural Center is Taiwan’s first public cultural infrastructure project integrating a performance hall, library, and community college in one. Covering approximately 1.6 hectares, and based on different functional attributes, the center’s buildings are divided into two structures: the Theater Building and the Classroom Building. The Theater Building has four floors above ground and one underground level, featuring a professional-grade multipurpose theater that can accommodate 400 to 600 people. The remaining spaces include a theater lobby, exhibition areas, professional rehearsal rooms, and an outdoor performance stage.

The Classroom Building consists of three floors above ground and one underground level, housing two regular classrooms, four special-purpose classrooms, an NGO exchange room, administrative spaces, and a light meal café area. The library is located on the underground level and includes an audiovisual area, book storage area, and administrative space. During the trial operation period, it was only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and only allowed for on-site reading. Full borrowing services will be available starting from the official opening on April 13.
