Tainan, famous for its delicious food and historic sites, has always been a top choice for domestic tourism. The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle’s 88 Anping Line and 99 Taijiang Line, provided by Tainan City, link the city’s main transportation hubs and renowned historical attractions. They offer 1–3 day discount ticket packages, making it easy for visitors to explore landmarks such as Chihkan Tower, Confucius Temple, Yenping Prince Shrine, Yiwei Fortress, Anping Fort, as well as Anping Tree House, Sicao Ecological Cultural Area, and Qigu Salt Mountain. Additionally, Tainan City is looking for the 1 millionth passenger on the 88 Anping Line and 99 Taijiang Line to receive a special gift: a 60-inch TV worth approximately NT$50,000.

Currently, there are 31 Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes across Taiwan. As of the end of June, the total cumulative ridership nationwide was about 4.7 million. Among them, the 88 Anping Line and 99 Taijiang Line have carried 930,000 passengers, accounting for 20% of the total ridership across all routes—the highest utilization rate. These lines are expected to surpass 1 million passengers by early September this year. To celebrate the milestone and enhance service quality, three new travel packages have been launched this year: “Tainan 88 99 One-Day Travel Pass,” “Tainan 88 99 Two-Day Travel Pass,” and “Salt Coast Tainan 88 99 Three-Day Travel Pass.” These include not only bus fares for the 88 Anping and 99 Taijiang Lines but also free entry to historical sites, food vouchers, discounted tickets to the Taiwan Salt Museum, and free transfers on Kaohsiung Bus and Fucheng Bus routes within Tainan city. The one-day pass is priced at NT$150, the two-day pass at NT$270, and the three-day Salt Coast package at NT$290. This year also marks the first collaboration with the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Corporation to offer the “Tainan 8899 HSR Combo Ticket,” providing a 25% discount on round-trip high-speed rail fares.

Starting now, in limited collaboration with Tainan’s Jiajia Ximarket, Jiajia Xiaonantian, and Weiyue Hotel, the “Stay in Tainan, Travel Better” package offers a one-day Tainan 8899 travel pass with hotel stays. A “Buy Pass, Win Prizes” campaign is also planned: customers who purchase the 1-day or 2-day passes can join an online lucky draw for prizes including mirrorless cameras, tablets, smartphones, Tainan hotel vouchers, and 7-11 gift cards.

Additionally, from now until November 30, on national holidays and weekends, certified city tour guides will be available on the 88 Anping and 99 Taijiang Lines to provide onboard commentary, introducing Tainan’s tourist attractions and historic architecture.
