Liufang Village

Liufang Village is a Dong ethnic settlement located along the western route of Liping County, 35 kilometers from the county seat and 7 kilometers from the township government. The village has 119 households and a population of 626. It boasts a rich Dong architectural style and is one of the most well-preserved and representative Dong villages in the region.

The village is situated at the foot of lush green mountains, with fertile rice paddies stretching out in front. A small stream meanders through the middle of the fields in front of the village. The Liufang Flower Bridge spans the stream and is uniquely positioned amid the rice paddies.

Liufang has two village gates. A cobblestone-paved flower street path leads through the front gate into the village. The path to the back gate consists entirely of flagstone steps. The drum tower in the village serves as a gathering place for the Dong people. The drum tower in Liufang is uniquely designed and is unlike any other in the Dong regions of the county. The wooden houses are scattered in a well-arranged layout, with many featuring carved dragons and phoenixes on their wooden boards and pillars, or painted with patterns such as double fish and peacocks, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of Dong artisans. The village paths are paved with flagstones or inlaid with cobblestones to form flower-patterned walkways, keeping the area clean and tidy. The ponds and ditches within the village are interconnected, allowing for natural water flow. The drum tower, flower bridge, village gates, residences, flower streets, ancient wells, and ponds all vividly reflect the unique and profound Dong cultural heritage of Liufang, making it an ideal destination for studying Dong culture and experiencing ethnic tourism.
