Qinxi White Pagoda

Qinxi White Pagoda, also known as Qinxi Lingyun Pagoda, is located 35 kilometers west of Liping County in Guizhou Province, situated in Qinxi Village, 4 kilometers southwest of Aoshi Town.

The pagoda is enclosed within a closed courtyard surrounded by earthen and blue bricks. The pagoda itself, built from blue bricks, stands prominently in the center of the courtyard. To the left of the courtyard, the Qinxi Stream flows gently; to the right, an endless forest road runs straight through Qinxi Village. On the wall beside the small gate on the left, there is a slogan left by the Red Army during the Long March: “Arm yourselves, take action, overthrow the landlords and distribute the land,” which is striking and eye-catching.

Qinxi White Pagoda is about 30 meters tall, with a facade wall standing 7 meters high. Inside the square wall is inlaid a horizontal blue stone plaque, 3 meters long and 1.2 meters wide, featuring four running script characters: “Qinshan Baozhang” (Protection of Qin Mountain). The first floor of the pagoda upwards has a vertical plaque inlaid, featuring three running script characters: “Lingyun Pagoda.” The lintel of the door bears a couplet:

Locking the water’s mouth, the noble Ling Tower stands tall, from here a district flourishes with scholars ascending to the Phoenix Hall

Adorning the sandy shore, the cloud palace rises elegantly, to this day the Buddhas aid scholars in stepping onto the Dragon Tower

Qinxi White Pagoda is the only remaining pagoda-style structure in Liping County. In April 1984, the Liping County People's Government designated Qinxi White Pagoda as a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
