Longwangtan Nature Reserve

Longwangtan is located within Koujiang Township, with geographical coordinates at 26°0′15″N, 108°45′20″E. The land is collectively owned. Due to human activities, the forest has been somewhat degraded, but some primary forest still remains, and the area boasts rich biodiversity. The total area of the reserve is 6,075 mu, all of which is forested land, including 2,700 mu of primary forest and 3,375 mu of secondary forest.

The area is home to monkeys, birds, snakes, mammals, fish, and amphibians. Rare animals include the Chinese giant salamander, softshell turtle, and pangolin. The dominant tree species are from the Lauraceae, Rosaceae, Hamamelidaceae, Theaceae, and Fagaceae families. Rare plants found here include horseshoe ginseng, sweet gum, beechwood, and thick-leaved sweet tea.
