Liubei Mountain is situated at the intersection of Shunhua Township, Shuikou Town, and Zhaoxing Township, 45 kilometers from the county seat. Its geographical coordinates are 26°7′15″N, 109°15′26″E. The mountain is under the administration of Shunhua Township, Shuikou Town, and Zhaoxing Township, and the land is collectively owned. The mountain was once affected by wildfires, resulting in limited primary forest but a larger proportion of secondary forest. However, it boasts a relatively rich diversity of species. The total area spans 110,300 mu, including 64,890 mu of forested land, 2,925 mu of sparse forest, 10,290 mu of shrubland, 17,300 mu of farmland, 14,900 mu of barren hills, and 9 residential settlements.

The dominant plant species include those from the Magnoliaceae, Lauraceae, Elaeocarpaceae, Rubiaceae, Theaceae, Betulaceae, Fagaceae, Pinaceae, and Hamamelidaceae families. Rare tree species found here are Parakmeria lotungensis, Manglietia kwangnanica, Manglietia yuyuanensis, Taxus mairei, Michelia chapensis, Phoebe bournei, Bretschneidera sinensis, Emmenopterys henryi, Michelia foveolata, and Michelia fulgens. Key animal species include goats, wild boars, bamboo rats, and golden pheasants. The mountain is home to an exceptionally rich variety of species and features a complex food chain. It is designated as a nature reserve for biodiversity conservation.
