Dimen Dong Village

Dimen Dong Village is situated in the northern part of Maogong Township, Liping County, and has over 1,300 households, hence the name "Qiansan Dimen" (Thousand-Three Dimen). The origin of the village’s name, as passed down through generations, is that after the ancestors of the Dong people settled here, the population thrived, eventually reaching 1,300 households. Later, 700 households moved to Maogong, 200 to Ladong, and 100 to Luoda. Dimen is considered the root of the "Qiansan" group. To commemorate this origin, the village was named "Dimen" in the Dong language, which in Chinese means a place that flows continuously like a spring — enduring and profound, a site worthy of remembrance. In the May 2008 issue of [publication name omitted], Dimen was featured in a 24-page spread. Villagers from here have also accompanied national leaders on visits to the United States and were received by Mrs. Obama at the White House. Despite several attempts at tourism development over the years, all have ended in failure. As a result, the village sees almost no tourists on a daily basis, offering an unusually peaceful atmosphere that is perfect for visitors who appreciate quiet and tranquility.

(1) Take a bus from Liping County to Maogong Township or Rongjiang County, get off at the Dimen junction, and walk about 4 km (approximately 1 hour) to reach Dimen.

(2) Hire a car from Liping directly to Dimen. We recommend Driver Wu from Dimen (phone: 13595544815). He is familiar with the area, drives steadily, and the journey involves many mountain roads, so expect some bumps along the way. If you have time after arriving in Dimen, you can visit the nearby Dengcen Village (1.3 km away), or take a ride to Ladong Village (8 km away).
