Chuan Dong River Waterfall is located on the Wengan River, about 13 kilometers north of Weng’an County. Here, the river is over 50 meters wide with a drop of more than 10 meters in the riverbed. The water plunges abruptly, forming a vast waterfall curtain. What’s even more peculiar is that behind the curtain lies a horizontal cave, 3 to 4 meters high and 2 to 3 meters wide, through which people could carry firewood

through the cave, creating a natural underwater passage. There are three large window-like openings between the cave and the waterfall. Standing at the cave entrance and viewing the “curtain,” the waterfall curtain alternately opens and closes, sometimes thin and sometimes thick, offering a truly unique sight. This Chuan Dong Waterfall is one of the top ten waterfalls in China. Being here makes you feel as if you've entered the fairyland of the Monkey King’s Water Curtain Cave from *Journey to the West*.
