The Qingshan Yelang Museum is centered around the ancient town of Qingshan, located 45 kilometers from the county seat, and encompasses 12 Yelang historical sites including Tonggu Mountain, Daying Mountain, Xiaoying Mountain, Lion Mountain, Dapo, and Tongguan Mountain. Out of the 21 ancient Yelang sites in the entire province, 12 are situated in Qingshan, Puan County, including 2 at Tonggu Mountain in Qingshan. Through two archaeological excavations conducted between 1978 and the present, over 2,000 cultural relics have been unearthed. These relics include bronze swords with straight guards and curved blades, bronze arrowheads, and human-faced bronze buttons. The sites date from the Warring States period up to the reign of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty. They are believed to be workshops for casting bronze swords, firing pottery, and producing weapons during the ancient Yelang era. The Qingshan sites and their unearthed artifacts fully demonstrate that Qingshan in our county was an important political, economic, military, and cultural center of the ancient Yelang Kingdom.
