Steel Plate Culvert

The steel plate culvert is located at the 2313 km + 30 m mark along National Highway 320 in Qinglong County. The culvert is about 1.7 meters high, 1.4 meters wide, and approximately 10 meters long in total, with around 6 meters of its length covered by steel plates. It was built in 1943 when U.S. forces participated in the construction of the eastern approach road to the Panjiang Bridge. Despite years of weathering, the steel plates inside the culvert remain as solid as ever, and the original manufacturer’s markings on the plates are still clearly visible.

The steel plate culvert has been rated as a Grade 3 tourism resource in the transportation architecture category.
