Pujian Tingtao Pavilion

Tingtao Pavilion was built near Liuhexi Square on the former site of the grand Li Family Mansion. It gets its name from the sound of wind rustling through the vast pine forest, which resembles the roaring waves of the sea. In front of the pavilion lies an expansive stretch of pine forest and grassland, lush and vibrant like brocaded embroidery, offering wide, unobstructed views of the garden's scenery. Behind it is a canyon where cool breezes blow, refreshing and pleasant. When the wind rises, the endless pine forest undulates like rolling waves, with deafening roars echoing like thunder or the crash of a collapsing heaven and earth. At times, clouds and mist envelop the area, draping like veils; at other times, turbulent clouds race across the sky, with fog and smoke rising. Yellow warblers, mountain eagles, and other birds are frequently spotted, their chirping blending with the mountain flowers that blanket the hills. It’s like a celestial paradise—an earthly paradise indeed.

Transportation

Shixiang Lake is located at Exit 86 of the Chengya Expressway, just a 40-minute drive from Chengdu. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Chengdu’s Xinnanmen Bus Station, with daily shuttle services running between the lake and Chengdu.
