The Pear Blossom Valley Scenic Area covers an area of 5 square kilometers, with 700 mu of cultivated land. The main residents are farmers from Groups 2 and 3 of Qihuaigou Village, totaling over 160 households and more than 600 people. There are currently more than 10 farm stays. The area is named after the hillsides covered with pear trees. As early as 1995, Pear Blossom Valley was listed by the Jintang County Party Committee and County Government as one of the county’s six major tourism zones. In 1998, it was also included as an important part of the Garden Water City construction project.

Pear trees have been planted in Pear Blossom Valley for a long time. The oldest “Pear Mountain Matron” trees, with trunk circumferences over 1.5 meters, are more than 150 years old. The hills are home to a wide variety of pear tree species, with approximately 60,000 pear trees and 40,000 peach trees spread across the 5-square-kilometer slopes. Every spring in March, pear blossoms flutter and peach blossoms glow, transforming the entire valley into a sea of flowers. Tens of thousands of pear blossoms resemble frosted snow, while thousands of acres of peach blossoms shine brilliantly like embroidered brocade and flowing rosy clouds. Coupled with the dense forests on the mountaintops, clear streams forming creeks, tranquil pools reflecting blue, and birds chirping in groups, the landscape embodies the serene mountain charm of “mountain scenery delighting birds, and pool reflections calming the heart.”

Pear Blossom Valley boasts not only beautiful scenery but also many touching stories and legends. It is also home to numerous scenic spots and historical sites. The beautiful legend of the “Mao Gou Cave,” the countless mysterious tales of the “Three Hundred Steps,” and cultural landmarks from the Ming and Qing dynasties such as the “Guanyin Temple,” “Moonlight Temple,” “Garden Temple,” “Tied Water Bridge,” and “Mast Stone” all contribute to the area’s charm. There is also a lovely saying: “One li has three temples, three steps lead to two arched bridges,” making it a place that captivates visitors and sparks endless reverie. It serves as a tourist destination for flower viewing in spring, summer retreats, autumn fruit tasting, and winter snow appreciation, adding another historic attraction to Jintang’s Garden Water City.
