The “CTS Cup” Chengdu·Jintang Ironman Triathlon World Cup, approved by the International Triathlon Union and the General Administration of Sport of China, is jointly organized by the Cycling and Fencing Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Triathlon Association, and the People’s Government of Chengdu, and co-hosted by the Chengdu Municipal Sports Bureau and the People’s Government of Jintang County. It will be grandly held in Jintang County, Sichuan Province, on2017,5,6—7. This event is the first of the two Ironman Triathlon World Cup events in China (the other being in Weihai), consisting of the Ironman Triathlon World Cup and the CTS Open Triathlon, with an expected participation of over40countries (regions) and more than1000professional and amateur athletes. The event schedule is as follows: On the mornings of5,6, and7, the Ironman Triathlon World Cup (professional category, with approximately160athletes) will take place; on the afternoons of5,6, and7, the Ironman Triathlon Open (amateur category, with about900athletes) will be held.
This year’s event boasts distinctive features: First, it offers enhanced competitiveness and spectator appeal. As the first competition following the reform of the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Triathlon World Cup, the ITU has adjusted the full-distance race to half-distance and super-sprint distances, making the competition more intense and visually engaging. Second, market-driven event organization is maturing. Jintang has consistently adhered to an open approach to hosting events, actively exploring reforms in event operation mechanisms and widely attracting social funding for market-oriented event management. This year’s event has transitioned from corporate naming sponsorship to full corporate sponsorship of the amateur division. Third, the registration is open to a broader range. In previous years, registration was conducted on the official website of the Chinese Triathlon Association, primarily targeting triathlon clubs. This year, registration is managed by Hong Kong China Travel Services Chengdu Jintang Haiquan Bay Land Co., Ltd., and is open to triathlon clubs and enthusiasts worldwide. Fourth, the commercial value of the event is more prominent. The event fully leverages the positive role of major sporting events in developing the sports industry and boosting county-level economies, closely integrating the competition with urban marketing, project promotion, and all-for-one tourism to comprehensively enhance its economic benefits.

Amateur Division full-distance race:5Month6Afternoon; it remains at the standard Olympic distance, but the minimum age requirement has been raised from5to10; prize money has also increased, offering a better overall race experience.

Currently, Jintang County has established a modern agricultural development system focusing on vegetables, fruits, edible fungi, and Jintang black goats, supplemented by olive oil, livestock, specialty aquatic products, and specialty traditional Chinese medicinal materials, promoting the branding, standardization, specialization, e-commerce, and landscaping of agriculture. The county has successfully established itself as a National Agricultural Product Quality Safety County, a National Export Food and Agricultural Product Quality Safety Demonstration Zone, a National Standardized Production Base for Green Food Raw Materials (Navel Oranges), a China Forestry Industry (Olive) Production and Processing Demonstration Base, and a Core Production Area for Cultivated Morel Mushrooms in China. Jintang is also the first provincial-level demonstration county for modern cash crop industry bases.4+NThe "specialized, commercialized, and grain-focused" modern agricultural development system actively promotes the branding, standardization, specialization, e-commerce, and landscaping of agriculture. Leveraging the “2017Jintang Triathlon World Cup Press Conference,” the county promoted11modern agricultural projects, including integrated primary, secondary, and tertiary industry interactions, leisure and sightseeing agriculture, deep processing of agricultural and sideline products, and breeding and cultivation, with a planned total investment of89billion yuan, of which: the Longquan Mountain Urban Forest Park Jintang (regional) construction project is planned to invest15billion yuan to implement ecological restoration and landscape enhancement in approximately300square kilometers within Jintang County in the Longquan Mountain range. The project will integrate sub-projects such as forest wellness, fitness and health, sightseeing and recreation, leisure vacation, and sports competitions, creating an industrial integration demonstration zone that balances ecological benefits with agri-tourism leisure. The China Mushroom City project has a planned total investment of10billion yuan, aiming to construct facilities including a edible fungus industry technology research institute, deep processing of edible fungi, logistics centers, industry technology research, and edible fungus e-commerce, extending the edible fungus industry chain and capturing the high-end segment of the industry. The Jintang Zishui River Industrial Integration Development Corridor project plans to create a "one belt, three zones, multiple lakes" landscape pattern along the53-kilometer watershed of the Zishui River. The plan includes waterway improvements, new village construction, ecological restoration and protection, as well as the development of bird habitats, wetland parks, flower sightseeing gardens, parent-child experience parks, and agricultural product picking gardens, achieving interaction between primary and tertiary industries, integration of industry and villages, and presenting a beautiful and highly attractive "streamside leisure trail."
The Jintang County Agricultural Products Deep Processing Park project covers an area of4.1square kilometers. Jintang Avenue leads directly to the park, which is2kilometers from the Zhugao exit of the Chengnan Expressway and adjacent to the under-construction Baiguo General Airport, offering significant transportation and location advantages. The project construction includes standard factory buildings, commercial buildings, office buildings, infrastructure, and supporting facilities. The initial development zone has completed over300acres, with a focus on introducing single-story, double-story, and triple-story standard factory buildings totaling20million square meters, primarily targeting enterprises for the deep processing of agricultural and sideline products.
——Deepening the implementation of the "culture and tourism revitalizing the city" strategy, efforts are focused on developing modern service industries with strong radiating and driving effects. In recent years, Jintang County has accelerated the development of the service sector, successively introducing major service projects such as the CTS Hot Springs Resort, Tiedao Investment Parent-Child Amusement Park, Jintang Wanda Plaza, and Mengli Shuixiang Water Park, with a total investment of217billion yuan. Once completed, these projects will provide strong support for establishing Jintang as a leisure tourism destination in the suburbs of Chengdu and as the "back garden" of Chengdu.2017In the year, Jintang seized the major opportunities presented by the construction of a national central city and an inland free trade zone, adhering to the concepts of integrated and innovative development.
