Jintang Tuojiang Culture Museum

The Jintang Tuojiang Culture Museum is a cultural relics protection unit of Sichuan Province.

The Jintang Tuojiang Culture Museum (formerly known as the Jintang Phoebe zhennan Museum) was completed in October 2012 and is located in Xuanshuiwan, Baiguo Town, Jintang County. With a total investment of over 200 million yuan, it covers an area of 10,000 square meters, has a building area of 7,800 square meters, and features exhibition halls spanning 3,000 square meters. In 2016, based on the spirit of Document No. [2016]1 issued by the Jintang County Cultural Construction Leading Group Office and relevant approvals from leaders, the museum fully explored the historical and cultural significance along the source and basin of the Tuojiang River. It aimed to claim the cultural high ground of the Tuojiang source and its watershed, filling the gap of lacking a similar historical and cultural museum in the region, thereby establishing a cultural symbol for Jintang. In July 2016, the original museum underwent a comprehensive renovation, and substantial funds were reinvested to launch the construction of the Tuojiang Culture Museum. While extensively exploring and showcasing the history and culture of the Tuojiang River, the museum also preserves and passes on the outstanding traditional historical culture of Jintang. The museum is divided into three exhibition halls and one calligraphy and painting hall. The first hall introduces an overview of the Tuojiang River and stories of water control along the river; the calligraphy and painting hall displays fine rubbings collected by our museum; the second hall covers the development of Jintang; and the third hall features intangible cultural heritage and a hall of notable figures from Jintang and the Tuojiang River.
