Pingqiao Grain Silo

The Pingqiao Grain Silo is a cultural relic protection unit designated by Chengdu City.

The Pingqiao Grain Silo is located at No. 1 Xingping Street, Pingqiao Township, Jintang County, with a construction area of 1,200 square meters. It consists of five silos, built in 1964, and served as an important grain storage facility for Jintang County at the time.

The silo was constructed using lime, soil, and bamboo strips as building materials, with a roof covered in bituminous felt. Its main structure remains largely intact. This structure provides valuable reference material for studying the politics, economy, and living standards of local residents in the last century, while also bearing unique memories of the era. The overall design of the silo is elegant, featuring effective ventilation and moisture control that reflect a harmonious blend of practicality and artistry.

On May 2, 2018, it was announced by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Chengdu.
