Sujiawan Catholic Church

Sujiawan Catholic Church is a municipal-level cultural heritage site in Chengdu.

Sujiawan Catholic Church, dating back to the Qing Dynasty, is located in Huaxing Village, Huaikou Subdistrict. Oriented southeast from the church, it features a Chinese-style "sub-character" layout and exhibits a fusion of Western and Chinese architectural styles. Covering an area of 1,648 square meters, the church remains largely intact. In 1997, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government.

Huaikou Subdistrict: Huaikou Town is situated southeast of Jintang County in Sichuan Province. It borders Huangjia Township to the east, Baiguo Town to the south, Jiulong Town to the west, and Zhaojia Town to the north. The elevation ranges from 425 to 915.5 meters. The town government is located at No. 23 Wenhua Street, 25 kilometers from the county seat. In 1999, the town covered an area of 47 square kilometers, with arable land totaling 31,861 mu, including 8,583 mu of paddy fields and 23,279 mu of dry land.

In the Ming Dynasty, the Huaikou Town Patrol and Judicial Office was established here, named after the ancient Huai’an Army to the west of the town.
