Flower Valley

Flower Valley is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Flower Valley is located in Zhuantang Town, Jintang County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China. Situated on the western edge of the Central Sichuan Hills — one of China’s most typical mesa and hilly regions — it covers an area of over 1,000 acres and is 66 kilometers from downtown Chengdu. It is one of the first 18 key flower appreciation bases in Chengdu. Flower Valley is far ahead globally in the collection and conservation of Chinese hollyhock germplasm resources, the breeding of new varieties, horticultural applications, and research on hollyhock culture. It has also established the China Hollyhock Research Center and completed the world’s first comprehensive monograph on Chinese hollyhocks, titled “Illustrated Guide to Chinese Hollyhock Varieties.”

The Native Lily Garden in Flower Valley has been under development since December 2013 and now cultivates over 150,000 rare native Chinese lilies of more than 30 species. It is currently the only theme garden in China dedicated to showcasing the beauty of native Chinese lilies.

Flower Valley spans over 1,000 acres. Its 300-acre hollyhock sea is the largest in the world and features the greatest variety (over 120 types) of hollyhocks. There is also a 25-acre field of lupines. The natural wild mountain charm offers the best viewing period from early May to late August.
