Shuangliu Gulong Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Gulong Temple is located in Huanglongxi Town, Huayang County, Shuangliu District, Chengdu. It is the earliest-built temple in the ancient town of Huanglongxi, situated at the southern end of the main street, facing north. The temple is uniquely characterized by the organic integration of an ancient temple, an ancient stage, and ancient banyan trees — known as the “Three Antiquities” — which complement one another and make it stand out as the foremost among local temples.

The main gate of Gulong Temple features a stage called Wannian (Ten Thousand Years) Stage, covering an area of 103 square meters and standing 8 meters tall. Built in the early Qing Dynasty, it has a history of over 300 years and is the only surviving stage among the nine that once existed in Huanglongxi. On the north and south sides of the Wannian Stage courtyard stand two ancient banyan trees (also known as Ficus virens or Ficus lacor), which are said to be over 900 years old. Legend has it that these two trees were planted by the Yellow Dragon Patriarch himself when he came to enlighten the local people and help them escape suffering. It is said that in the past, the canopies of the two trees once shaded the entire courtyard. Directly opposite the Wannian Stage is the Maitreya Hall, in front of which stands a thousand-Buddha iron pagoda. In addition to the Maitreya Hall, the main structures of Gulong Temple today include the Mahavira Hall, the Guanyin Hall, and the Amitabha Hall.
