The typhoon’s eye has gradually moved away from Taiwan, but due to the storm’s impact, some scenic areas, amusement parks, and museums have announced closure for the entire day on the 29th. ETtoday EBC News has compiled a list of all the sites across Taiwan that will be closed or shut down on the 29th. Travelers planning to visit should take note.

The Forestry Bureau announced on the 28th that all 18 national forest recreation areas under its jurisdiction — including Taipingshan, Neidong, Manyueyuan, Dongyueshan, Guanwu, Daxueshan, Baxianshan, Hehuanshan, Wuling, Aowanda, Alishan, Tengjhih, Kenting, Shuangliu, Zhiben, Xiangyang, Chinan, and Fuyuan — as well as the three lowland forest parks — Danongdafu, Aogu Wetland, and Linhou Silin — will be fully closed on the 29th. All managed trails will also be closed and are not yet reopened.

Scenic Areas and Amusement Parks in Northern Taiwan

1. The National Palace Museum will be closed all day on the 29th.

2. Taipei Zoo will be closed for the day.

3. Songshan Cultural and Creative Park will be entirely closed on the 29th.

4. Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation announced that due to citywide work and school suspensions, services such as Maokong Gondola, Taipei Arena Ice Skating Rink, Children’s Amusement Park, MRT Souvenir Shop, Beitou Guesthouse, MRT Lost and Found Service Center will be temporarily suspended.

5. Beitou Hot Spring Museum will be closed for the day.

6. The National Museum of Natural Science will be closed on September 29 (Tuesday) — including the main museum, 921 Earthquake Education Park, Phoenix Valley Bird Ecological Park, and the Chelungpu Fault Preservation Park. All events are canceled.

7. Leofoo Village Theme Park will be closed for the day.

8. Miniature World will be closed for the day.

9. Doraemon Science Theme Park will be closed for the day.

10. Northeast Coast National Scenic Area – closed attractions include: Guishan Island, Fulong Beach, Longdong Bay Diving Service Area, Longdong Four Seasons Bay, Longmen Camping Area, Old Caoling Bicycle Tunnel, Kwantung Coastal Recreation Area, Waiao Service Area, Dakeng Viewpoint, and Yilan Bicycle Path.

11. North Coast & Guanyinshan National Scenic Area – closed attractions include: Yehliu Geopark, Baishawan, and Shalun Beach.

12. New Taipei City’s Shifen Waterfall Park has stopped allowing entry since the 28th. The reopening date will be announced later, depending on recovery progress after the typhoon warning is lifted.

13. Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf has been closed; the public is advised to stay away.

Central Taiwan Scenic Areas and Amusement Parks

1. Leofoo Resort Taichung (including Adventure Land, Marlboro, and Escape Room) will be closed for the day.

2. Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area – closed attractions include: Hanbi Trail (entrances at Elderly Association Hall and Church), Shuishe Waterfront Trail (entrances near spa home, old air duct office, and by Mi’locko turnoff), Songbai Bicycle Path (near Orchid Garden and over 2 km on Provincial Highway 21A), Neihu Mountain (entrances at Wenchang Temple Back Mountain Park and the helipad), and Shuishe Dashan Hiking Trail.

3. Shanlinxi National Scenic Area: Lishan Guanxiasha Trail.

Southern Taiwan Scenic Areas and Amusement Parks

1. Yunlin Sword Lake World Amusement Park closed for one day

2. Kaohsiung Pier-2 Art Center closed on the morning of the 29th

3. Closed scenic spots in Maolin National Scenic Area: Liangshan and Saicaia areas

4. Closed scenic spot in Taiwan’s Southwestern National Scenic Area: Mashagou

Eastern Taiwan Scenic Areas and Amusement Parks

1. Yilan Traditional Arts and Culture Center closed for one day

2. Hualien Far Eastern Ocean Park closed for one day

3. Closed scenic spots in East Coast National Scenic Area: Hualien Yanliao, Jiji Beach, Shitousing, Rueisuei Rafting Center, Taitung Baxiandong, Sanxiantai, Jialulan, Xiaoyeliu, and Green Island’s Shilang, Chaikou, and Daibaisha snorkeling areas, as well as the Asahi Hot Springs area

4. Closed scenic spots in East Rift Valley National Scenic Area: Mugu Muyu, Luoshan Waterfall Wooden Trail, Taitung Liukou Hot Springs, and the flight deck (including landing zone) at Luye Gaotai

Offshore Islands Scenic Areas
1. Closed scenic spots in Matsu National Scenic Area: Beigan’s North Sea Tunnel and nine coastal trails (Beigan – Iron Fort, Dahan Outpost, Qiugui Pavilion Trail; Beigan – Luobishan Ecological Trail, Beihai Wusha Tunnel; Juguang – Dapu Stone Carvings; Dongyin – Dongyin Lighthouse Trail, Lie’nuo Yi’keng, Guojia’s Northern Frontier)
