Nanhu Dream Island is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Chengdu Dream Island Amusement Park (referred to as Dream Island) is located in the core area of the urban RBD — the Nanhu Resort Scenic Area in the hinterland of the Tianfu New Area. It is a natural peninsula formed by the convergence of the Fu River and the Jiang'an River. In 2007, Chengdu Nanhu International Tourism Culture Development Co., Ltd. invested heavily in its development. After three years of dedicated effort, a fully open-themed park integrating amusement, leisure, and shopping made its grand debut in July 2009, becoming a new landmark of international South Chengdu.

The first phase of Dream Island covers an area of 400 acres and is divided into five zones: Nanhu Pearl, Sea God Wharf, Elf Devil Island, Jungle Journey, and Love God Lake. Each zone features uniquely styled and mysteriously enchanting architecture and landscape designs. The park introduced nearly 60 sets of top-tier global amusement rides for the first time, including Asia’s first 38-meter-high TOP-FLYING ride; Asia’s first SuperSpin; Asia’s first M-shaped log flume; Asia’s first inward-facing six-arm giant swing; and currently China’s most technologically advanced virtual experience project — the dome motion theater...

It was here that the concept of an “experience park” was first introduced, and the idea of experiential entertainment was meticulously developed. The park weaves its thrilling, exciting, and joyful environment and atmosphere around a fantastical storyline and specific themes. Within the park live sprites who govern destiny and fate, along with adorable unicorns, who dwell here and craft the magical and faraway tales of Dream Island.

Dream Island Park boasts the international flair of South Chengdu. The 6,000-acre Nanhu Resort area where it is situated has been listed as a key project under the “Double Hundred Project” by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Tourism. With a forest coverage rate of 60%, a 10-kilometer riverfront, 1,000 acres of water area, and a 300,000-square-meter lake surface, the 6.5-kilometer scenic lakeside is dotted with authentic European commercial districts such as the German Lorenz Themed Wedding Plaza, the Dutch Amsterdam Water Street, the Austrian Bad Ischl Street, and the English Stratford Street.

The park hosts exciting events all year round. Since its opening, large-scale events such as the “Chengdu International Beer Festival,” “Dream Journey Star Music Carnival,” and “World Cup Carnival” have drawn huge crowds. Unique and innovative events like “Halloween and Christmas Colorful Parties,” “Children’s Dream Sheep Village on Children’s Day,” “Dream Angels Children’s Graffiti Competition,” and the “Maya Carnival” have emerged one after another. The park upholds the customer value of “joyful slow living,” advocating a modern urban entertainment lifestyle that is leisurely, eco-friendly, and unhurried. It aims to create a distinctive amusement base, a commercial gastronomy BLOCK district, and a branded event center plaza for international South Chengdu.

In 2012, the Nanhu Resort Scenic Area entered its second-phase planning, and Dream Island Phase II was set to launch. Spanning 300 acres across a 2-kilometer riverside zone connected from the end of the South Extension Line to the existing Phase I project, it will feature an experience park encompassing internationally popular amusement attractions. Once completed, Dream Island Phase II will cover a total area of over 700 acres, offering visitors a colorful, world-class recreational experience.
