Dahei Mountain Forest Park is a provincial-level forest park in Sichuan, blessed with abundant sunshine, clear skies, and fresh air. As the car travels eastward from the mountain pass and reaches a small hill dotted with three pine trees, looking along the ridge reveals the protruding Bodhisattva Rock. It resembles an upright dragon head connected to the ridge, looking much like a long, giant dragon lying across the land, gazing southward. The layered terraces mark the Lanjian Mine. Gazing into the distance along both banks of the Jinsha River, the hundred-mile steel city built against the mountains and beside the water stands majestically and spectacularly. Looking back westward, the proud Eagle Rock, standing atop the peaks at an altitude of 2,920 meters, is covered with dense, lush pine forests. There is also a grassy area spanning several hundred square meters, where a variety of flowers and plants grow. In spring, it bursts into vibrant blooms, while in late autumn, it is covered with yellow flowers.

What’s even more unique is the broad-leaved trees that naturally grow into round balls about three centimeters in diameter, scattered in an orderly and picturesque manner. The arrow bamboo forests and alpine azaleas on the back mountain add further charm to Dahei Mountain Forest Park. Along this ridge, visitors can also enjoy four major scenic wonders: watching the sunrise at dawn, admiring the sunset clouds, viewing the ever-changing sea of clouds on rainy days, and observing the lights of the hundred-mile steel city at night.

Walking westward from the mountain pass leads to a gentle forest path. Emerging from the woods, you’ll see the Yi ethnic village of Hejia Village. The Yi villagers here often wear traditional ethnic costumes, especially the women, who don hand-sewn tops, pleated skirts, and decorative headpieces, presenting vibrant and graceful figures. The villagers are warm, simple, and polite. At the entrance of the village lies a small stone forest with towering stone pillars in various shapes, creating a delightful scene. This is where villagers gather to celebrate during festivals. During the Torch Festival or when welcoming honored guests, people of all ages come together to dance the Guozhuang dance, often continuing through the night until they’ve had their fill of fun. Additionally, Dahei Mountain features other attractions such as the Immortal Cave, Peach Blossom Garden, and Stone Pagoda.
