Ancient Lihou City

Ancient Lihou City is located at the site of the ancient Li State in Jinjia Street, Licheng County, covering an area of 1,500 mu with an investment of 3.5 billion yuan. Built against the cultural backdrop of the ancient Lihou State from the Western Zhou Dynasty and developed as a national 4A-level tourist attraction, it encompasses four major functions—"administration, ritual, commerce, and residence"—and integrates the six essential elements of tourism: "dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment." It is known as the "Hometown of the Ancient Li People" and the "Foremost Ancient City of the Taihang Mountains," and aims to become a "Gathering Place of Shanxi’s Three-Jin Culture" and the "Premier Cultural Tourism Destination in Shanxi." Ancient Lihou City boasts a rich variety of local customs and recreational activities. A two-kilometer-long circulating water system runs through the city, bringing together elements such as ancient Li culture, themed bars, fashionable cafes, classic teahouses, specialty snacks, and a hot spring resort center. It stands as a typical representative of traditional northern Chinese residential architecture with distinctive features and style.
