Golden Rooster Fort Scenic Area
The Golden Rooster Fort Scenic Area is located in Xijing Town in the northwest of Licheng County, 32 kilometers from the county seat, covering an area of 70 square kilometers. It is one of the core scenic areas of Taihang Red Mountain.
The scenic area combines "wonders, grandeur, peril, and beauty." It features the 3-billion-year-old geological marvel – Colorful Stone Gorge, the secluded Xingkong Mountain known for mountain bathing and wellness, the majestic Golden Rooster Fort where the rooster heralds the dawn, the West Zen Hall with cliffside ancient temples for incense burning and prayers, as well as attractions like Jiulong Mountain and Shamao Mountain that offer high-altitude views and panoramic landscapes.
The main route of the scenic area is 22 kilometers long, with a one-way sightseeing bus service available.
