The First Agritainment in Hexi, Wutongqiao

As is well known, Wutongqiao is the birthplace of "agritainment." In 1987, Wang Family Garden began receiving foreign tourists, and soon after, agritainment venues sprouted up like mushrooms, forming the Muyu Mountain Agritainment Cluster. However, in the Hexi area, agritainment didn’t emerge until 16 years later, in 2003.

"A Peach Blossom Spring" is located at Yangjiachangkou, three kilometers south of the Daduhe Bridge in Guanying Town, covering an area of over 10 acres. It got its name because there is a peach blossom forest behind it. The garden is lush with flowers and trees, features winding paths leading to secluded spots, and has the charm of a Jiangnan-style garden. Cobblestone paths, Sichuan-style cottages, pavilions, artificial hills, fountains, fresh flowers, and green trees are all arranged within the garden in a well-planned layout. Especially charming are the inn-style cottages in the garden, which are warm and inviting, giving guests a homely feeling.

The owner hired chefs from star-rated hotels in Chongqing to create signature delicacies such as "River Fish Cooked in River Water." There are spicy options including pickled chilies, broad bean paste, hot pot, and Agastache-flavored rural cuisine; and light options including nourishing broth, floating oil, three delicacies, and Cantonese-style flavors. Since Guanying is situated by the Minjiang River, many fish ponds are dug on the riverbanks, with Minjiang water flowing in naturally. As a result, the fish here are as tender and fresh as river-caught fish.
